Indiana Knights Win Season Opener
April 27, 2004

The Indiana Knights, 12 year old travel team out of Ossian, began thier 2004 season by winning a double header against the Summit City Cougars - 20-4 and 15-5.

Leading the Knights 17 hit attack in game one were Dan DeArmond going 3 for 4 with a double and scoring 4 runs and Alex Eichler going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Also contributing were Noah Patten, Brandon Gerber, Bryce Biberstein and Jason Werling each going 2 for 4. Patten, Biberstein, and Cochran each drove in 3 runs while Werling and Corben Ruse each drove in 2 runs. Matt Harris scored 2 runs along with Patten, Gerber, Werling and Ruse. Holding the Cougars to just 3 hits and 2 earned runs were Jordan Arnold, DeArmond, and Werling.

In game two, the Knights offense and defense remained strong. The pitching effort was outstanding with Patten, Cochran, and Werling allowing the Cougars only 4 hits. Offensively, the Knights aggresive hitting and baserunning kicked into high gear with Jordan Arnold going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and scoring 3 runs. Patten was 2 for 2 with 1 RBI. Landon Curry hit a career first triple scoring 2 runs. Also with a strong offensive showing were Cochran and Eichler with 2 hits each.
